Funded by BMW of North America, LLC, the program chooses
the finest talent from post-secondary automotive schools and colleges across the country.
Since its inception in 1996, the program has produced over 3,000 STEP graduates, most
of whom are still working at dealerships today.
Each student accepted to the program and during the training process will network with
a number of BMW and MINI dealerships in a region of the country. At some point prior to
graduation the aspiring technician and the respective hiring dealership will come to a final
agreement and complete the hiring process.
No fees from students are accepted for attending the programs. Tuition is funded in
advance by BMW and also subsequently by the dealers which hire from the pool of
